Prior to founding Modulor Associates, Jeff served as Vice-President of Brand & Design at Washington Mutual where he led the development, implementation, and management of the new WaMu brand identity across the enterprise.
Jeff’s experience can be summarized as being both Mac and PC. On one side, he earned an MBA from the University of Washington, worked in Financial Services Product Management, and in Product Marketing at Getty Images. On the other, he earned an undergraduate degree in design and spent several years working at The Leonhardt Group (now Fitch), a leading brand strategy and design firm. His work has appeared in numerous design publications as well as MSNBC, The Baltimore Sun, The Boston Globe, and NPR.
Before joining Modulor, James led creative work for clients such as Pepsi, PG&E, WaMu and NBC at corporate brand consultancy Wolff Olins in New York. His work developing and implementing the WaMu brand identity system spanned three years and hundreds of projects, from forms to retail environments. James has also worked in London, Eastern Europe, Asia and the Middle East on a wide range of assignments including large-scale identity systems, packaging, product, and collateral. He has received design effectiveness awards in both the UK and US.
Prior to Modulor Associates, Lesley was a Design Studio Manager for one of the three creative teams at Fitch, Seattle where she worked with clients such as Weyerhaeuser, Microsoft, and Boeing.

Her work at agencies in New York and Seattle has been recognized in numerous top design publications.
In addition to work at several leading agencies (including MetaDesign in San Francisco and Remedy in Chicago), Shawn has spent several years building brands from the inside – as an art director at Apple and as the founding designer for Dwell Magazine. During his three years at Dwell, Shawn played a key role in establishing the brand’s identity system, and extended it across hundreds of editorial pages and beyond to everything from corporate collateral to response forms to promotional websites. In addition to his professional work, Shawn has taught courses in publication design, advanced typography, and identity systems.
